Why do I wish to travel?

I wish to travel and see the different parts of the country I have not seen yet.  I wished to relocate from NY City but do not have a permanent site selected yet.  This gives me the opportunity to sample living in other places but without a long commitment.  Traveling also generally offers more steady work than local temp agencies.

Reliable and pleasant staff.
Good communication by phone, prompt return of messages
Good pay, allowances

Do I plan to travel with pets?  Yes (Simon, my cat), but I usually make my own arrangements
Do I plan to travel with family or friends?  No

What are my hobbies or interests?

Travel, RVing
Outings to festivals and events
Computers, Internet
Photography

If I could design the perfect job for myself, what would it be like?

3 x 12 hrs shift weekdays in a clinic setting with friendly staff and patients that I can get to know on a personal basis.  I like to provide excellent patient care and unfortunately patients suffer when the job is rushed as in a busy department or emergency room.

What areas of the country are most appealing to me?

At present, (eastern TX, FL, Southern CA).

If I could change one thing about my current situation, what would it be?

I miss having regular benefits paid for and 401k retirement contributions..

Where do I see myself in six months?

On a travel assignment or on hiatus for vacation  My previous goal of changing to CT is now achieved.  If I meet someone special (I'm single) I might extend indefinitely or stop traveling, but I can't predict that.

Things I will require to do my job effectively for Diagnostic Radiography and CT where applicable:

• Film badge/TLD radiation monitoring device
• Non-latex gloves (vinyl or nitrile)
• Sterilizing solutions/alcohol  for cleaning chest Bucky between patients
• Cassette covers for portable and trauma radiography for proper hygiene and prevention of hospital-acquired infections
• Pigg-O-Stat Pediatric Immobilizer (or similar device) for infant chest radiography
• Proper shielding (half aprons, etc.) must be readily available.

Other things I would expect to have available to do my job effectively:

• Linen, sheets, pillowcases, towels, blankets.
• Tape. (1" nylon tape preferably) for positioning aid.
• Weights (water bottles/sandbags) for erect Lat. C-spine exam

Things I prefer not to do:

• Venipuncture.  At present I am uncomfortable starting my own IV's.  When required I prefer this be done in the ER or Floors before the patient arrives.  In the near future I expect to be trained to do so, but I have not had that experience yet to be comfortable.
• Housekeeping duties
• Fileroom duties.  No filing or data entry beyond the necessary to perform exams.
• I do not hold patients for exams.  I feel it is unnecessary and unethical to be regularly employed to do so.
